RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances)
RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) is a European Directive that aims to ensure that from July 1st 2006, new electrical equipment put on the market does not contain certain hazardous substances that are considered harmful to the environment.
This is not a new concept; however it is only in the last few years that the driver to produce environmentally friendly products has shifted from the consumer to a legal requirement.
The main part of this directive that affects the products made by Crusade Designs, is the use of lead, particularly when referring to the soldiering of electronic components. We have spent the past 6 months, re-developing our products to ensure that they meet the requirements of the RoHS directive whilst remaining as effective and reliable as they were previously. You can be sure that from July 1st 2006, all of the Crusade Designs product range will meet with the RoHS requirements.
